As the calendar flips to 2024, you might be motivated to get back into the Bible again or maybe even investigate it for the first time in your life.
But where to start?
The Bible can be a daunting book filled with all kinds of historical and religious references that might be confusing at first glance. How do you navigate such a big and important book that isn’t designed to be read in order from front to back? Where do you go to figure out the answers to the questions that you have?
We are here to help.
- Bible reading lists
There are many different options when it comes to direction on reading your Bible at home. Please contact Pastor Frey if you’d like to figure out what you should be reading and how.
- Group Bible Studies
At Foundation Lutheran we have multiple Bible studies throughout the week, geared toward helping people of all backgrounds to get to know the Bible better. No previous experience necessary and no obligation to participate. Just come and listen if that is what you are comfortable with. Take a look at the current Bible studies times and topics below and join us for as many as you would like!
- Individually Scheduled Bible Study Course
A course called “God’s Word Only” covers the main teachings of the Bible in a user-friendly way. Pastor Frey schedules these classes according to the time and day that works for everyone interested. Sometimes it’s a small group that can meet in the same place on the same day. At other times the course is taught to just one or two people. Please let Pastor Frey know if you’re interested!
CURRENT BIBLE STUDIES:
Sundays @ 10:30AM – “Why Four Gospels?”
- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are the first four books of the New Testament. They all cover the life of Jesus and sometimes even repeat many of the same stories. Why? What purpose did each of these authors write what they did? What audience were each of them trying to reach? And what does that have to do with us?
Tuesdays @ 11AM – WOMEN’S – “Psalms of the Messiah”
- Out of the 150 Psalm in the Bible, there are quite a few that contain prophecies about Jesus. Any woman of any age and experience is invited to join us for women’s Bible study as Pastor Frey leads this study on the great Psalms of the Messiah.
Thursdays @ 10AM & 7PM – “Who Are the People of God?”
- God’s Old Testament chosen nation was the people of Israel. But is that still true today? The book of Galatians offers insight into who the people of God really are (and always have been): those who believe in Jesus as their Savior.
ON DEMAND: “God’s Word Only: The Main Teachings of the Bible”
- This 12 lesson course is designed to inform everyone about what God says in the Bible about a number of different important topics. Contact Pastor Frey to inquire when you can take this essential class that will broaden your knowledge and deepen your faith!
