Pastor Matthew Frey
I grew up in the small town of Seward, NE with my parents and three younger brothers. After high school at Nebraska Lutheran I then attended our pastor/teacher training college in New Ulm, MN for four years before four years of training at our seminary in Mequon, WI. I married my wife Jessica in 2004 after she graduated with an early childhood degree and we now have four children together: Emma, Elijah, Seth, and Gideon. We served at a mission congregation in Montrose, CO for 16 years before taking the opportunity to restart the congregation here in Summerlin, NV. There are tremendous opportunities in the Summerlin area and plenty of potential to share the good news about Jesus and his Word. It is exciting for us to be a part of a new adventure in a beautiful part of the city with a wonderful facility already in place!
Beyond preaching and teaching the Word of God, I love to be outdoors doing any kind of sport or activity, preferably with my family. It’s a blessing to live in a part of the country with access to so many diverse landscapes that my kids, my wife, and I can explore. We love the culture of the Summerlin area and enjoy exploring the scenes and cuisines of this unique part of Las Vegas. We are looking forward to spending quite a few years here growing as a family and building up a congregation on the foundation of our Savior!
